Heel Pain
Heel pain can be due to Achilles Tendonitis, Sever’s Disease (children) and other conditions, but the most common one is Plantar Fasciitis, which may include a heel spur. Fasciitis is becoming more and more prevalent, partially because of hard surfaces and the trend towards very thin, flat shoe soles. Bone structure is pounded and there is no stimulation to keep moving parts supple and active.
Most Common Heel Pain Symptoms
Fasciitis sufferers feel sharp, penetrating pain in the center of the heel, or around the perimeter, or just in front of the heel bone, when stepping onto the foot first thing in the morning or when getting up from a resting position. This is because the muscles and tendons contract when there is no tension, but do not have the flexibility to stretch under pressure and the result is microscopic tears in the fascia. The intense pain may dull to an ache as the muscles and tendons warm up.
Possible causes of Heel Pain!
Pain usually signifies inflammation. Plantar Fasciitis is inflammation of the plantar fascia, which is the thick connective tissue between the toes and the heel. When the fascia is not supple and is overstretched during some unusual activity, or as the result of continuous pounding on hard surfaces, it may begin to tear away from the heel bone (calcaneus). This causes pain, inflammation and swelling.
This condition can lead to the formation of a Heel Spur (or Calcaneal Spur) – a bony protrusion at the heel bone.
Reasons for damage to the plantar fascia
The plantar fascia tears when it cannot stretch enough!!
Only supple, well-conditioned muscles and tendons can cope with the stresses and tensions feet are subjected to. Hard surfaces like concrete, tiles, paving and tar pound the bone structure, because the moving parts have deteriorated and are not fit enough to adequately relieve the load. A fit foot will cope better and enable a greater range of activity and comfort.
Treatment for Heel Pain includes the following options
Medical
Medical treatments such as anti-inflammatories, cortisone, shockwave therapy and surgery are costly, merely relieve symptoms and always have negative side effects. In most cases they are unnecessary for the permanent relief of fasciitis.
Self Help
Rest, reduced activity, ice packs and exercise all reduce and relieve the symptoms of fasciitis to some degree, but are not always practical, do-able, or sustainable in a busy lifestyle.
There is a much better, easier, automatic way to achieve foot fitness, which is the perfect cure and insurance against fasciitis.
Arch Supports…..Foot Correctors!!
Ordinary, static arch supports, and insoles only support and cushion the problem.
Foot Correctors are quite different! This is a dynamic gym apparatus to promote foot fitness and the right action in the foot, stimulate blood circulation, and provide superior shock absorption for the bone structure. Very little additional exercise, massage or therapy is necessary to get the foot working optimally and thus eliminate all the causes and inconvenience of plantar fasciitis.
- Foot Correctors support all three arches of the foot simultaneously and in ratio! This is very important! Only three-point support brings the correct balance and alignment to the foot and body.
- Foot Correctors provide flexibility – a rebound, springy action promotes muscle movement and automatic exercise, resulting in a mobility and elasticity which is the key to relieve and prevent fasciitis.
- Foot Correctors have a pump action which stimulates and promotes better blood circulation – very helpful in flushing and reducing swelling and inflammation.
Soft Step Foot Correctors provide this three point solution for heel pain as well as many other additional benefits. Try them….you will not be disappointed!!
